Jason earned his medical degree from Queen’s University, Belfast in Northern Ireland. He is the youngest ever visiting scholar to be invited to study neuroscience and neuromodulation under Professor Ramachandran at UCSD.

Paul is a trained neurosurgeon and a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, as well as a Member of the Royal Colleges of Physicians. The topic of his doctoral thesis was vestibular stimulation and central pain and his advisor was Professor V.S. Ramachandran at UC San Diego’s Center for Brain and Cognition. He has published around twenty scientific papers on different aspects of brain function including body image, pathological pain and the role of the vestibular system in homeostasis. Together with Dr Jason McKeown he co-founded Neurovalens in 2015.

Niall is a qualified Chartered Accountant with over 25 years of leadership and senior roles. Most recently Niall was Founder and CEO of a financial services start-up which he successfully exited in 2017. Niall also previously held senior roles with Barclays and PwC.

Iain gained his experience working in the automotive, telecommunications and medical device industries for over 10 years. Specializing in embedded technologies Iain has designed and implemented safety systems for leading automotive OEMs including Mercedes Benz and Chrysler while working with Schrader Electronics. Iain has also held roles with Ericsson and Asidua.

Chris has been developing software for around 15 years and holds a Masters in Computer Science from Queens University Belfast where he won the HP Autonomy Prize and Dell High-Performance Computing Award. Before joining Neurovalens he worked with several start-ups, most recently as CTO of AuditComply.

Tara graduated from University of Ulster, Coleraine in 2008 with an honours degree in Biology. Tara worked for 6 years in a medical device manufacturing capacity. For the past 5 years, her career has focused on Quality Management Systems and Regulatory Affairs, specializing in supporting clinical trials and performance of medical devices.

Grainne is a Chartered Accountant having trained in PwC Dublin and subsequently worked in the PwC New York assurance practice. Since then, Grainne has gained experience in roles with Graham Group and amaysim Australia in the areas of financial and commercial reporting, and has particularly enjoyed working on numerous process improvement projects.

Aside from managing the day to day operations of the company, Patricia also arranges all things travel and event related. Her hobbies include travelling, fitness and all things food related.

Chris is a qualified Mechanical Design Engineer having earned his experience of over 12 years within the automotive industry. Responsible for the design, testing and validation of safety equipment Chris has worked with OEMs including Pirelli, Mercedes and Chrysler.

Angela graduated from University of Edinburgh in 2017 with a BSc in Neuroscience (Honours). In 2018 she founded her own company making bespoke products for people living with Dementia and was a recipient of Young Innovator Award (Innovate UK). Angela has varied experience including working for medical device company Aortic Terumo as well as carrying out freelance research for various other medical technology companies. Before joining Neurovalens, Angela worked for Alzheimer’s Society.

Leigh-Ann graduated from Newcastle University in 2014 with an honours degree in food and human nutrition, followed by the completion of her Masters in public health at University College Dublin. Leigh-Ann also has a PhD from Queens University Belfast were she developed and trialled a novel dietary programme for elderly people using cognitive methods to improve their eating habits. Before joining Neurovalens, she specialised in clinical trial research with over four years experience in the field.

With over a decade’s experience across various sectors, her roles have had a particular focus on employee engagement and wellbeing, employee relations and day to day HR partnering.

Joanne is qualified within the mental health field and delivers recovery-based therapies in the community. She has over 10 years’ experience in this area. Joanne uses exercise and education on a healthy lifestyle as a highly beneficial therapeutic intervention with many of her clients.
Lucy is a qualified paediatric nurse with over 10 years’ experience and has worked with Neurovalens as a Modius Life mentor for the past two years.
Gabrielle is a Registered Nurse who graduated from Queens University with Nursing Science BSc (Hons). Nursing experience includes the Emergency Department, District and School Nursing.
Ian graduated with a PhD and started his career in corporate finance with JP Morgan, the US Investment Bank. He later joined PwC where he was a Corporate Finance Partner. In 2003 Ian co-founded Beltrae Partners Ltd, an all-Ireland corporate finance and private equity firm with offices in Dublin and Belfast. Prior to becoming chairman of Neurovalens Ian was chairman of PathXL, a medical software company that was VC funded and successfully sold to Philips Healthcare in 2016.
Jamie has been a member of the Senior Management teams of two UK technology companies that have delivered international success from start up stage. In each of these companies Jamie has led the funding strategies and successfully raised domestic and international sources of capital to fuel growth. These two companies were ultimately successfully exited to US acquirers. Since entering the VC Market in 2014, Jamie has led multiple rounds of investment and worked closely alongside entrepreneurial teams.
