Meet The Team - Rebecca Armstrong - Clinical & Quality Manager
Tell us about yourself?
My name is Rebecca Armstrong, I am the Clinical and Quality Manager at Neurovalens, a medical device start-up company based in Belfast. I joined Neurovalens in September 2022 and have been involved in setting up and managing a fully remote PTSD trial, establishing the Quality Management System (QMS), and successfully guiding the company through the ISO 13485 audit. I was brought up in Brazil where I graduated in Pharmacy. My professional journey led me to Northern Ireland, where I worked initially in Quality Compliance at Almac Pharmaceuticals for 2.5 years before being drawn to the exciting and impactful work at Neurovalens. The company focuses on developing a non-invasive headset that stimulates the brain, with applications in various medical conditions.

What attracted you to join the Neurovalens team?
I was attracted to Neurovalens for several reasons. Firstly, the company's dynamic start-up environment offered a unique and exciting opportunity to progress my career. I also appreciate the family atmosphere, autonomy, and exposure to various areas that come with working in this setting. Additionally, the opportunity to contribute to groundbreaking medical technology, aligned with my desire to make a meaningful impact on people's lives.

What motivates you in your work?
My motivation lies in the combination of my passion for the Quality area, the fast-paced nature of working in a start-up, and the potential to contribute to innovative medical solutions. I find satisfaction in maintaining high-quality standards, ensuring regulatory compliance, and actively participating in the development of groundbreaking medical devices. Long term, I aim to continue growing professionally within the Quality field, contributing to advancements in healthcare technology, and making a positive impact on patient outcomes.

Do you have any hobbies or interests outside of work?
Outside of work, I enjoy staying walking and spending time with my dog, Lady. I also enjoy swimming and reading in my leisure time. Additionally, I have a passion for baking, which serves as a creative outlet and a way to unwind. I also engage in church activities, further enriching my life outside the professional realm. These activities contribute to a balanced and fulfilling lifestyle.
